This three-week, once a week program offers continuing education units (CEU’s) from Tarrant County College.

Money Smart will teach you the financial basics of budgeting, saving, investing, and using credit wisely. It’s for all of us who need to learn to manage our money wisely!
This three-week course lays a foundation for wise and mature personal financial decisions that will help you manage your business finances and build positive banking relationships. Learn how to create a budget, open checking and savings accounts and understand the importance of credit.
The course is structured primarily using the FDIC Money Smart curriculum but will also feature guest speakers and additional resources that relate specifically to the course materials.
Money Smart includes the following training: • An introduction to bank services • How to choose and keep a checking account • An introduction to credit • How to make a credit card work for you • How to keep track of your money • Why you should save, save, save! • Your rights as a consumer • How your credit history will affect your credit futures

Henry Vinson was Chief of Construction Contracting for the Army and Air Force Exchange Services when he retired in 1996. After retiring, Henry spent the next twelve years preparing technical data packages for Construction and Service Contractors. He has extensive experience in government contracting on both sides of the table. This three hour class will provide you with most of the basic information needed to respond to a federal, state or local government solicition. This class is followed a week later by a second class, which teaches a practical excercise in preparing a bid.

About the instructor: Tim Kormos began working as a corporate trainer in 1993 followed by conducting computer operations trainings. He has worked with industry giants as TRW, Inc (now Experion), Disney, Harley Davidson, Coca-Cola, Nestle, Chase Bank, Bank of America. In 2006 Tim was accepted as a technical trainer by both National Seminars and Fred Pryor Seminars. Today, Tim has been awarded contracts to teach advanced classes at Lockheed Martin while also conducting classes for the Fort Worth Business Assistance Center.
