Do you know your business ABCs?

The purpose of the ABC program — championed by the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County and BNSF Railway — is to create a forum for minority- and women-owned businesses to connect with buyers and procurement opportunities from public entities, corporations, prime contractors and developers.

The ABC Program provides technical assistance, training and introductions to these contract opportunities:

City of Fort Worth
• $76.8 million awarded in City of Fort Worth contracts FY 2009 to M/WBEs
• $500,000 annually in service and supplier opportunities with tax abated companies
• City of Fort Worth procurement opportunities
• Opportunities from other partner agencies

BNSF Railway
• Over $350 million annually with women and minority owned firms

Tarrant County
• Over $13 million annually with historically underutilized businesses

Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief awarded the Mayor’s Small Business Advocate Award to BNSF Railway during the 2009 Lockheed Martin/Chase Entrepreneur Expo®. Pictured with Mayor Moncrief is Matt Rose, President and CEO, BNSF Railway.

Lockheed Martin was the winner of the inaugural Mayor’s Small Business Advocate Award in 2008.
